Conductor and music teacher

After his state examination in music teaching (main subjects: piano/vocals/English), Andreas Fulda completed his studies in conducting with a focus on choral conducting with Prof. Harald Jers and Prof. Stefan Blunier at the Musikhochschule Mannheim. He is now studying choral conducting with Prof. Georg Grün and Prof. Toshiyuki Kamioka in Saarbrücken.

During his studies he conducted the chamber choir Consono Köln, the Collegium Vocale Hannover and the Gonville & Caius College Choir Cambridge, among others. Furthermore, he received valuable impulses from Frieder Bernius, Wolfgang Schäfer, Morten Schuldt-Jensen and Colin Metters, among others, in master classes and during his ERASMUS studies in Estonia.

In addition to musical and voice training work, his choral work focuses on pedagogical approaches. pedagogical approaches which, among other things, promote sight-singing, phonetics, stage presence and other singing skills.

 

In addition to his double degree, he directed the St. Josef Church Choir in the Lindenhof Mannheim until 2020. For performances with orchestra he worked with the Heidelberg Kantatenorchester as well as the Junge Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Rhine-Neckar. Assistencies and collaborations in the region Southwest Germany, mainly with three large Heidelberg student choirs as well as the youth choir Hochtaunus form a further focus of their work. The two-week youth choir project Cantare in Mannheim shows the central role that working with young singers plays for Andreas Fulda.

 

Since 2020, he has been directing a male choir in the Saarland, the Saarknappenchor, which for many years has been an which has been an international flagship of the Saarland for many years.

 

Other musical activities

For many years, he volunteered at the Nuremberg International Chamber Music Festival and its and its musical-social youth initiative Bridging Arts (most recently as assistant to the management).

Furthermore, Andreas Fulda gained musical experience as a singer and pianist in

chamber music ensembles, opera productions, big bands and youth choirs and orchestras. As a lied accompanist and répétiteur, he accompanied in the lied and singing classes of Rudolf Piernay and Snezana Stamenkovic at the Mannheim Musikhochschule. He has also worked for many years with his sister and singer Katharina Fulda (Düsseldorf), with whom he founded the duo UNSINN for music of the 1920s and 1930s.

He has performed in the extra choirs of the opera houses in Nuremberg and Mannheim and is active in various renowned ensembles, such as the men's choir Ensemble Vocapella Limburg, the Chorus Musicus Cologne, the Ensemble Vox Quadrata and the Chamber Choir of the Mannheim Academy of Music.
